Thank you, God

In my "Daily Inspire-ation" by Dr. Julie Conner, I read
"'Thank you' is the best prayer that anyone could say. 'Thank you' expresses extreme gratitude, humility, understanding." - Alice Walker
Gratitude rewards the Giver and Receiver.
Through gratitude,
We acknowledge the Divine in another and
Find It mirrored within ourselves.
Gratitude without expression
Is like wrapping a gift without giving it away.
Gratitude consecrates us.

I have been praying for those God moments with my children. You know those little moments that happen, when you can teach a little life lesson and explain how Jesus left his finger prints on it. The funny thing is that I've been trying to create these moments, and then I realized, its God's timing, He creates them and He will bless me with the words to say.

My husband and I took 3 of our girls to a Marlin game. It is a very special day two of them get to parade on the field before the game. Then we partake in the usual activities such as eating: Hot dogs, pretzels, peanuts, cotton candy and ice cream. We even do a little shopping. We have to stock up on our fan gear. As we enter the store all I hear is I want I want... I'm ready to walk out, but I simply say no and give them choices on what I am willing to purchase. They all end up making very good choices that we are all happy with.

Next comes the 7th inning stretch. After we finish singing "Take me out to the ballgame my 9 year old is awarded MVP of her softball team. I am so very proud of her. She wanted to pitch for her team so she practiced and practiced on her own and throwing with me. She threw 100 pitches a day 4-5X a week. She set her mind to it, stuck with it and it paid off.

Finally, on the way to the car after a long fun filled, exhausting day I hear "Thank you for taking us to the game mommy and daddy. Thank you for the treats. Thank you for the shirt."

Thank you, Lord. I guess the God moments aren't just for the kids they are for me too.
