A few years ago the Faith Training Kids brought home a bible point. "God is Powerful" So we adopted this when our little ones would become scared or get bad dreams we began to say, "God is powerful." The girls would respond, "Pray to God for help." We would repeat this 3 or 4 times and send them back to bed. This usually did the trick. I mean lets face it, Mom or Dad can't fix it or take it away, and what happens if Mom or Dad aren't there. We wanted the girls to know they can turn to God for that same assurance they receive from us. God is their light that never dims or fades and they will never be alone. Mark 1:27 states The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, “What is this? A new teaching—and with authority! He even gives orders to impure spirits and they obey him.”
As I sat and pondered this idea, after a sermon a few weeks ago, I plugged into His Truth. God really is Powerful. He sent his Word, He sent His Son to die for us and if that's not enough He raised Him from the dead. Now that's power. But that still is not all. He IS still reigning today.
