About Us

About St. Paul Lutheran Church

St. Paul is a dynamic Christian church that meets you right where you are. Whether you are just curious about church and God or you are a committed follower of Jesus Christ, you are welcome here.

Our Church is made up of ordinary people from all walks of life.  We understand that we continually need to rely on God.  We are not perfect, but we seek a genuine relationship with God who has shown us His sacrificial love.  The Cross of Jesus reveals to us that He genuinely cares and desires to be active in our daily lives.  The reason we exist is quite simple.  We feel God has called us to be a family and community in which God's love heals us and helps us to grow.

Like a hospital, God's Word and Sacraments are applied to our lives affording us His eternal healing, love and life.  We believe church is for everyone;  it is relational, beneficial, exciting, powerful and relevant to all of our lives.  We believe in building an authentic community of believers who are truly excited about service, fellowship and living for Jesus Christ.  The acronym "HOSPITAL" communicates 8 key values:
Helping the Hurting
Outreach to the World
Serving our Community
Preaching the Good News
Involvement in Ministry
Teaching God's Word
Adoration of God
Leadership Development

Steve was born in Beatrice, NE in 1983.  His father is a pastor so they moved 3 times when Steve was a child, however, it was never out of the wonderful state of Nebraska.  Therefore, just like everyone in Nebraska, he bleeds RED! GO HUSKERS!  Steve attended Concordia University in Seward, NE from 2001-2005 where he earned a bachelors degree in Geography and played both basketball and tennis.  Sports is a part of Steve's lifestyle.  Soon after college he married Jessica.
Jessica and Steve then moved to St. Louis where he attended Concordia Seminary from 2006-2010.  Steve served his vicarage year (Aug. 2008-Aug. 2009) here at St. Paul and was called back as Associate Pastor in July 2010.  They are the proud parents of two beautiful boys.  Steve's passion is to proclaim the exciting and salvific message of Jesus Christ's life, death, and resurrection in every aspect of his life.  He would love nothing more than for you to contact him and share how God is active (cause He is!) in your day to day life.
