Psalm 88 - A Cry from the Depths

The Word of God is powerful and effective in and of itself.  I have put my trust in that over the years knowing that my voice in and amongst the text is only beneficial for the here and now, but as the words are read aloud, God's glory is proclaimed in every case.  I have to trust in that promise again today as I (Pastor Steve) have no voice to communicate Psalm 88.  So as we take this journey, I covet your prayers that it may return, but I also ask that you read Psalm 88 aloud for your devotion this day.  It is a troubling Psalm with the psalmist crying from the depths of what feels like death, but please don't get surrounded by that too fast and forget about the first verse - "O Lord, the God who saves me,".
Have a blessed day filled with God's presence and assurance of salvation in Jesus Christ.
