A Faith Unshaken

It is difficult to see past what we "see".  After all, seeing is believing, right?  Remember what Jesus said to Thomas?
 John 20:24-29
Now Thomas, one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came.  So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”
But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”  Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”  Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

A sense of peace can be based on our perception that everything appears all right, or it can be based on the fact that you know and believe that God is control no matter what we see.  It is not coincidental that the phrase "do not fear" is used 365 times in the Bible.  God did not create us to be fearful.  Sin makes us fearful.

Faith is complete trust in our Heavenly Father.  A trust that knows God would never leave us.
Hebrews 13:5b-6

“Never will I leave you;
    never will I forsake you.”
So we say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?”
John 6:29  Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”
He has promised us He will return.  He has promised us that upon His return He will shake not only the earth but also the heavens -- to remove what can be shaken so that what cannot be shaken may remain.  Since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful.
Hebrews 12:26-28
Dear Heavenly Father,
We pray for a faith that cannot be shaken.  A gentle reminder to always turn our thoughts to you and a soothing whisper to our soul to not be afraid.
In Jesus' name we pray!
 Amen
